Yoga is a CCA that is offered after school on Mondays. I will take it for this second term of the school year, and also in term 3 if I like it.
With yoga, as I have had some experience with it (with the previously offered yoga CCA that was combined with pilates, so it was more work that included body weight exercises) so I was more familiar with some of the poses. I am weak in my torso (back, abs, core, arms, shoulders) so I hope to gain more strength in these areas along with my gym routine. I will be able to tell if I am getting stronger with improvement in the way and how long I am able to hold the pose. There should be improvement in my balance as well, as most of the poses that I know already include being able to balance effectively.
CAS aims that I am achieving with this is:

After the first few sessions: (March 2015)
I have not been going as much as I want to have been, so I will have to figure out ways to have enough energy to be able to go to the session. The sessions I have been going to however have been difficult and are different than what I had before. There is not as much movement that was incorporated with the pilates in the previous CCA, but there is still strength exercises and stretches that challenge me. I like the instructor, and he is very professional with us but I feel relaxed and comfortable around him. He is very good with the students and tells us what each position does for our body, so we know what we are doing to improve our body. He also tell us the dangers of the poses and explains to us the correct way to do the pose so that we won't injure ourselves.
It is too early to tell if I am getting stronger or more flexible, but since I have to stop football, together with my workouts at the gym, I am getting enough exercise to stay focused and balanced between my studies and social life.

Yoga no more... (Apr. 2015)
I really don't have the time for yoga anymore, as it is at an inconvenient time for me, but I have been going to the gym lately to run and release stress that way. Overall, yoga was an experience that has taught me the current limits of my body so I can challenge it and improve my body. The yoga was relaxing and fun to do with my friends and other students in my year. I have learned how to challenge my body in ways that are not damaging, but increase my health and help me focus and release stress, which was one of the main starting points of why I had started yoga in the first place. I can try to incorporate the lessons into my workouts and definitely make use of the breathing techniques in later workouts. I would do Yoga again, if it were at a more convenient time.
