Yes, I haven't been going, but as I already signed up for CCA's next term and MUN wasn't one of them, I really think that it is time for me to stop doing MUN. MUN was fun for the 2 years I had joined, but now it doesn't grab my attention enough for me to focus on it as much as it should be focused on. I think I mainly stopped because I am not a person who does very well with major change, and the teachers, the students and the organisation were all changed greatly. Not that there is much wrong with it, its just that the style didn't suit me at all. I started to dislike the CCA, but I didn't want to. I stopped to allow my good memories of MUN to be the front and foremost when I thought of it. Such as the idiotic propositions and resolutions that the more experienced delegates destroyed in conferences (which is kind of funny, as it is basically students speaking most eloquently and at the same time destroying the resolution and sometimes questioning the thought process behind it) and the bonding time I had with my sister.
MUN did teach me a few things, such as how to speak to an audience and to engage them. I also got over my shyness of standing up and speaking to a crowd by developing the thought that everybody in the audience wasn't judging every word you said and wasn't judging you if you stumbled over your words. It is basically the thought that everybody had been in the same situation as you, and if they are thinking much about your presentation, it is most likely they are sympathetic towards you. It has helped me a lot in my presentations in class and I also apply it to speaking with strangers. Overall, MUN has been a great experience in the previous years, but did not interest me this year anymore.
